Shells

I see them:
The wondrous little monopods
With their darling little faces,
Their polished beautiful shells.
And what is an escargatoire
If not a series of debutantes
And gentleman callers,
Each made one in the same.
Oh what lovely little beauties they are!
Whelk, Helix, Murex,
Nerite, Apple, Mystery
Limpet, Abalone, and Periwinkle,
Androgynous beauties,
Slowly waltzing along,
Each on a skirted foot.
